Overcoming Exam Anxiety and Thriving in Life
A young university student came to see me, overwhelmed by anxiety and panic attacks in the lead-up to her junior year exams at a prestigious university. She was bright, capable, and hardworking, yet the pressure to perform had become a challenge.
She was also suffering from intense headaches and, in her fear, was worried that something was seriously wrong—perhaps even brain cancer.
During our first session, we began tapping (EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques) on the anxiety she felt about her exams and her physical symptoms. As we gently peeled back the layers of emotions and physical pain, it became clear that the stress was not only about exams but also about deeper fears—fear of failure, fear of disappointing others, and the belief that her worth depended on her achievements.
As we continued tapping and incorporating TMR (Transformative Memory Repatterning™️) and coaching through these layers, her anxiety began to ease, and the headaches disappeared. She completed her exams with calmness and focus, achieving excellent results.
Before her final-year exams, she reached out again. We worked together to clear residual fears and reinforce her confidence. She went on to graduate with distinction and secured a great job in the field she wanted.
That was a few years ago. Since then, we’ve continued to work together, sometimes when she needs a tune-up, sometimes on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, focusing on any challenges she is facing, emotional resilience, balance, and alignment with goals. She continues to grow, learn, and flourish—navigating both the challenges and triumphs of life with confidence and self-awareness.
Our emotional and spiritual well-being is as important as our physical health. Just as we brush our teeth, exercise, and eat well, we also need regular emotional “check-ins” to release stress, process feelings, and stay connected to who we really are while staying on purpose.
We all face challenges in life — loss, uncertainty, crises, change. We are constantly learning how to move from surviving to flourishing, searching for the balance between safety, healing, and becoming who we are meant to be.
We are body, soul, and spirit—interconnected parts of one whole being. When all three are flowing in harmony, with healthy thoughts, balanced emotions, and a grounded spiritual life, we become free to live our potential, our truth, and what brings us joy.
Emotional intelligence and emotional freedom aren’t luxuries—they’re essential for a vibrant, successful, and meaningful life.
